Innovation in Extension

Innovation in Extension flows along the urban rural continuum. The National Urban Extension Leaders (NUEL) advance innovation through collectie efforts focsued on the urban perspective. The Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) published an Innovation Report in 2016 and a collaborative Horizon Report, Technology Outlook, Cooperative Extension 2016-2021.

Innovate Extension, UrbanX

The 2017 "UrbanX" Innovate Extension theme focused on Ohio’s urban influence. Ohio's unique urban-suburban-rural dynamics depend on Extension’s ability to develop relevant models and approaches. Rural and urban communities are interdependent, which makes it more important than ever for Extension’s work to flow seamlessly along the urban rural continuum. The goal was to bring together diverse teams interested in innovative impacts along this continuum. This event was led by OSU Extension Ed Techs and followed OSU's Innovate Impacts. The event was held on on May 17, 2017.

Urban Communities Re-Imagined

Framing issues for public work requires authentic and inclusive participation from many representative voices. The Kettering Foundation initaited an Urban Communities Re-Imagined project to explore innovative ways to increase citizen participation in the deliberative process among under-represented groups, and help build critical relationships to address social justice issues facing many of our urban communities.
