Urban Ohio
Ohio is the 7th most populous state in the nation and home to the complete food value chain, with food and agribusiness contributing $124 billion to the state’s annual economy. With 14 unique metropolitan statistical areas, diverse stakeholders contribute significantly to urban food systems. In each geographic area, stakeholders navigate access and policies related to resources such as land, buildings, equipment, soil, water, workforce, and markets. Ohio State University Extension engages with all of Ohio’s 88 counties to foster innovative food production, viable food businesses, resilient food community ecosystems, and healthy people.
