  1. New Urban Position with Ohio State University Extension

    The Urban Extension Specialist in the Department of Extension is a senior-level faculty 12-month position with a 60% Extension appointment and 40% applied research and teaching. The position will be located on the Columbus campus of The Ohio State University, will address the OSU RAISE theme of Race, Economic Opportunity, and Leadership and will foster a dynamic hub of innovation linking the priorities of urban communities with university assets.

  3. USDA Announces Grants for Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production

    USDA is making available up to $7.5 million for grants through its Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production (OUAIP). The competitive grants will support the development of urban agriculture and innovative production projects through two categories, Planning Projects and Implementation Projects.

  4. OSU Kindness Food Insecurity Project

    On October 18, Ohio State’s Office of Student Life led an effort of more than 600 volunteers to package 175,000 meals through Kids Around the World. Ohio State students, staff, faculty, alumni, volunteers, and families were involved in the 2-hour packing event at the French Fieldhouse on Ohio State’s Columbus campus.

    Climate Change Could Cost Ohio Municipalities Nearly $6B Annually by 2050.

    Local governments across Ohio will need to increase municipal spending by as much as $5.9 billion annually by midcentury in order to adapt to the challenges of a worsening climate crisis, according to a new study released today by the Ohio Environmental Council, Power A Clean Future Ohio, and Scioto Analysis.

    The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity starts up their Spring 2022 Virtual Forum Series on February 3. The 75-minute webinars are held every other Thursday through April 28. The first session on February 3 is titled "No Struggle, No Progress: Social Justice Organizing in the 21st Century." All forums are virtual and will be recorded.
